Your Counselor

Meet Kristy Garcia

MA, LPCC-S — Clinical Supervisor

Telehealth Only

Clients consistently describe Kristy as supportive, approachable, empowering, and genuinely easy to talk to. Her therapy style reflects those qualities — open, direct, engaging, and grounded in care and motivation. Kristy is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor (LPCC-S) with over 15 years of experience. She earned her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Heidelberg University and brings both clinical depth and authentic connection to her work.

She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and has extensive training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based approach that helps clients process trauma and shift deeply rooted negative beliefs. Kristy works with individuals across the lifespan and is particularly passionate about supporting those navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and self-worth challenges.

Kristy's background as an "army brat" meant moving frequently during childhood, giving her a broad, real-world understanding of people, transitions, and resilience. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including addiction treatment, community mental health, hospital care, and school systems. This diverse experience informs her ability to meet each client without judgment, with genuine curiosity, and with a strong commitment to creating a safe, inclusive space for all — especially LGBTQ+ individuals and families.

Three years ago, Kristy and her family relocated to Alaska from Ohio. Having lived in Alaska as a child, it was always a place she loved deeply — and returning to build a life here has been a homecoming she treasures. She is married and a proud mother to a young son. Outside of her practice, Kristy and her family embrace the Alaskan outdoors through hiking, camping, and fishing.

Life in Alaska

Beyond the therapy room, Kristy is a wife, mom, and proud Alaskan. She and her family make the most of everything the Last Frontier has to offer — from hiking and camping to fishing on the water.
